Myasthenia Gravis

Myasthenia Gravis is a neuromuscular disease characterized by abnormal weakness of voluntary muscles that improves with rest.

The voluntary muscles most commonly affected in myasthenia gravis are the oculomotor, facial, laryngeal, pharyngeal and respiratory muscles.  The severity of the disease carries; at it may result in severe muscle weakness and respiratory failure, a phenomenon known as crisis.
